A first step into the world of blogging

Hi there. I'm Kelly, I'm from Brisbane in Australia, and this is my blog about anything and everything.

I have always been active for as long as I can remember. My first sporting love was netball. I've been playing now for over 20 years and still love every second. From (very) social netball through to representative level, it's something that I am definitely passionate about.

Recently, I started getting into triathlons. It began with participating in a corporate triathlon through work, which was something I just wanted to have a go at for the challenge. I was bitten by the tri bug. A few months later I bought a road bike, and then a few months after that started triathlon training with a local squad. I plan on doing a bunch of tris, with the aim to one day complete a 70.3 Ironman. That could be a very ambitious aim, given I hate running. Haha.

As a former personal trainer, I have always loved a tough workout. Nowadays, I mainly focus on HIIT sessions worked around my triathlon training and netball, and love to fit in a yoga session when I can.

I have a graphic design background and have always loved and been inspired by beautiful things. Artwork, interiors, photography - the list goes on. Sometimes I think I was meant to be an interior designer. Other times I think I just need a bigger house and more money to put all the stuff I would love to buy!

I love a challenge. I have, on several occasions, trialed for netball teams that I probably had no hope of being selected for. Training is often my favourite part of a team sport. I signed up for a 100km bike ride within a week of buying my first road bike. I did a Tough Mudder with 2 days' notice. I am realising as I get older that it's good to challenge yourself, to be ambitious, because nothing great is ever achieved by doing the same thing you've always done.

This is a place for me to keep a diary of my training, the things I love, and anything and everything that inspires me. It is a place where friends and family that I don't see very often can catch up on what I'm doing (because I don't call home often enough - sorry mum), and where people I don't know who are perhaps just starting out with triathlons or thinking about it can have a read of my experiences.

I'm not an elite athlete. I'm not a gifted sportsperson. I'm a regular person who works an office job and tries to fit as much as I can in each day. I'm ambitious. I'm active. This is just me. Kelly.

Thanks for visiting :)
